Monday Night Football, Week 3. Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Tampa, Florida to take on the Tamps Bay Buccaneers.
The Steelers surprisingly enter the game in last place in the AFC North, still searching for their first win of the season, having posted an 0-1-1 record thus far. The Steelers are an organization in some turmoil and desparate for a win, with future Hall of Fame running back Le’Veon Bell on the trading block after refusing to report to work this year, and future Hall of Fame wide receiver Antonio Brown failing to show up for practice. The Steelers defense is uncharacteristically porous, averaging more than 30 points allowed per game.
In contrast to the Steelers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into the game in first place in the NFC South, undefeated and riding high on the strength of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick’s magical run. Fitzpatrick leads the NFL with an absurd 151+ passer rating and has thrown for 400+ yards and four touchdowns in each of his first two games this season. The result has been the NFL’s #1 offense to date and upset wins over two NFC Super Bowl contenders, the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles.
It’s the Steelers and the Buccaneers in a surprisingly compelling Monday Night showdown.
Enjoy the game everybody.
