The Jets have not made a concrete offer for Bell yet, but they believe that the Steelers are serious about moving the dynamic offensive weapon.
Reaching out to see what the Steelers would want in a deal is due diligence. It isn’t necessarily an indication the Jets are about to make a serious bid.
I can’t say how much interest the Jets have in Bell. I would stay away. Bell has grown into a tremendous back, arguably the best in the league. But he is also seeking a reported $15 million a year at one of the easiest positions to find value players in the league. He also has a history of heavy usage, and the Jets would presumably have to part with precious Draft capital to obtain him.
