The oddsmakers and experts are in agreement that the Bengals should bounce back this week against the Buccaneers.
The Oddsmakers and experts are surprisingly confident in the Bengals this week. Usually after such a big loss teams aren’t so heavily favored, but then again most teams don’t face a team like the Buccaneers following a loss like that. Here are the odds and experts’ picks for this week.
Odds
The Bengals are currently four-point favorites against the Buccaneers, according to Bovada. The Bengals opened as six-point favorites against Tampa Bay, but it seems like too many people have taken Cincinnati to bounce back before their bye week. The line could have also gotten closer because John Ross has been declared out for a few weeks. Vontaze Burfict also hasn’t practiced as of Thursday, which could be a huge blow for the Bengals’ defense.
The total for the game currently sits at 54.5, but considering the rut the Bengals offense has been in it seems like an uphill battle for these two teams to reach that total. Although both teams having major issues on defense lately.
Trends for both teams

Experts picks
- Fox Sports is projecting a 25.7-24.7 victory for the Buccaneers
- ESPN’s experts unanimously selected the Bengals
- All but one of SB Nation’s seven experts see the Bengals bouncing back against the Bucs
- All eight of CBS Sports’ experts went with Cincinnati
- NFL Pick Watch, which takes into account all the picks from around the web, has the Bengals receiving 100 percent of the picks this week.
It is strange to see a team fresh off a 45-10 rout that didn’t even feel that close get so much respect the following week. Although that seems to say more about the Buccaneers than it does about the Bengals at this point. We have to hope the experts are right, because if the Bengals lose this one going into a bye week, that could change so much about the rest of this season.
