Damon Harrison practices for Lions, Jarrad Davis returns

The Lions were looking bigger and healthier on Thursday.

The Detroit Lions took the field on Thursday to prepare for Sunday’s big NFC matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, and their defense suddenly looked a lot... bigger.

Newly acquired defensive tackle Damon Harrison Sr.—all 353 pounds of him—was out there practicing with the rest of the Lions defensive front on a frigid Thursday afternoon. The Lions made the trade with the Giants official just hours earlier, and considering they also released Sylvester Williams on the same day, there’s reason to believe the team expects Harrison to play this week.

In addition to Harrison, the Lions got Jarrad Davis back after the middle linebacker sat out of Wednesday’s practice with a calf injury. Davis appeared to be moving around normally, but he was wearing a wrap or sleeve on his left leg. We’ll see what his injury designation is in Thursday’s injury report, which drops at 4 p.m. ET, but this is obviously a big step in the right direction.

The one Lions player that remained out was Theo Riddick, who has been dealing with a knee injury since the bye week. Riddick again was present at practice with a helmet on, but didn’t appear to go through any drills during the open portion of practice.
