After a 40-7 drubbing by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars sit at 3-3 on the season in a three-way tie for first place in the AFC South and the Houston Texans on the horizon. The Jaguars are still in the driver’s seat for winning the division and making the playoffs, but with how the season has gone so far, specifically the last two weeks, they find themselves at an early cross roads.
There’s a big difference in exiting this weekend 4-3 as opposed to 3-4, especially when the game is against a division opponent.
The past two weeks the Jaguars have just been flat out bad. Against the Kansas City Chiefs the offense couldn’t get anything done and kept turning the football over. Against the Cowboys, every aspect of the team was bad. The No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL appeared completely out of sorts and no where close to what we had seen through the first five weeks of the season.
There are a lot of things the Jaguars need to correct before the head into their bye week and it starts with a Texans team who has won three in a row on Sunday at TIAA Bank Field. If the Jaguars can’t stop the bleeding now, it could be a long few weeks and we may need to move our hand closer to the panic button.
