The Jacksonville Jaguars got their asses kicked by the Dallas Cowboys yesterday. When you lose 40-7 on the road that’s the only way to describe it.
And defensive lineman Malik Jackson shares the sentiment.
When asked about the defense’s performance after the loss on Sunday, Jackson was as direct as he could be.
“We got our ass kicked today. I don’t know what else to tell you. We got our ass kicked today. We will bounce back.”
The Cowboys got 23 first downs to the Jaguars only getting 10.
They ran 72 plays to our 47.
They held us to 204 total yards.
They ran for 4.9 yards per carry.
They kept us to 4.8 yards per pass.
They held the ball for 38:50 to our 21:10.
Yup, ass kicking confirmed — and it’s never looked as bad as it did yesterday under head coach Doug Marrone. Before yesterday, the worst loss the Jaguars have suffered under Marrone was a 21-point failing in Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season to the (ugh) Tennessee Titans. The hope is that there is a precedent for this sort of thing and it’s not long before Marrone’s team comes back kicking some asses of their own.
Hopefully that means a bounce back game is coming this week against the Houston Texans.
Hopefully.
