NFL Power Rankings, Week 7: Movin’ On Up

The New York Jets won a wild, sloppy shoot out against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday to improve their record to 3-3 on the season and claw their way back into the playoffs hunt. To the victors go the spoils, and the victorious Jets are spoiling any bets of them sinking into the cellar this year. NFL power rankings reflect the Jets’ modest two game winning streak as they move on up the ranks.

SB Nation

Jets: 22 (last week: 24)

The Jets go as Sam Darnold goes and this week was a good one for the rookie quarterback.

USA Today

22. Jets (last week: 22)

K Jason Myers poured in 24 points Sunday. What do Steph Curry, James Harden and Russell Westbrook have in common? None average 24 ppg.

Washington Post

21. New York Jets (last week: 25)

The Jets have regrouped with wins over the Broncos and Colts since a 1-3 start. The competition gets much tougher this weekend when the Vikings come to the Meadowlands.

ESPN

25. New York Jets (last week 27)

Playoff chances: 7.6 percent chance. Sam Darnold completed 80 percent of his passes in Week 6 after completing 50 percent or fewer in each of his previous three games. Only three of his 30 passes were off target in Week 6.

With the obvious proviso that power rankings are stupid, unless they praise the Jets, in which case they’re awesome, what do you think? Where should the Jets rank in the NFL power rankings?
