News, links to articles, updates and more from DC area writers and national sports journalists
The Daily Twitter is a new feature here at Hogs Haven, and, while the plan is to have it post daily at midnight, this inaugural edition of the Daily Twitter is being launched at lunchtime. Look for the next edition at midnight tonight, and then every 24 hours going forward.
We hope you enjoy this new Hogs Haven daily feature.
The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general.

Tributes are pouring in for Rich Tandler, one of the nicest guys you could have ever met. The Redskins have already said that no one else will ever sit in his FedEx Field seat. Just incredibly sad. https://t.co/P9wYm0MzcK

Crushed by the news of Rich Tandler's passing. He was the elder statesman of CSN & now NBC Sports Washington. He was a great analyst of the Redskins & a great person. I never saw the guy in a bad mood. I'll miss his sense of humor & always remember his passion for his work. RIP.

So sad to hear about my friend @TandlerNBCS. Passed away today. One of my favorite people in DC sports media when I played and after. You will be missed my friend

@HogsHaven @TandlerNBCS Rich, thanks for putting up and working with me so many years ago. Your dedication to the grind inspired me to keep pushing to find my voice and role in covering DC sports. I am, like so many others, better for having worked with you. Rest In Peace

I'm not sure if there's a more universally loved guy on the Skins beat than Rich Tandler. Terrible news to hear of his passing. Always had time for everyone, nobody ever had a bad word to say about him. Thoughts go out to his family and the @NBCSWashington crew.

Rich Tandler was one of the first guys to truly interact with me about #Redskins news, rumors, and info. There was no question he wouldn't answer, no inquiry he wouldn't address. Such a kind man. This is heart-breaking.#RIPRT

Just got to Redskins Park and I have no desire to leave my car and enter a room that will never be the same.

Rich Tandler was someone whose presence I enjoyed immensely. Yes, he was kind, funny and a joy to be around but he was also curious. A wonderful person to talk ball with
We lost a good one yesterday. Rich Tandler was a great family man, a passionate ‘Skins analyst and a loyal friend to so many around here for so long. My condolences to his family and everyone at NBC Sports Washington. RIP, RT.

Updates from #Redskins practice:
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 17, 2018
Chris Thompson is in pads. So is Stacy McGee, meaning they have 3 weeks to activate, cut or trade him.
AP looks to have the day off. Richardson and Crowder are out, too. Same for Danny Johnson (forearm).

ESPN, which used to employ Jon Gruden, ranks Jay Gruden 17 spots higher in its ultimate coach rankings. (Jay Gruden has never won a playoff game.) (Jon Gruden is having a very bad week.) https://t.co/tJko2GJ1ZQ
