It is about as even as you can get.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be returning home this weekend to face the Washington Redskins at Raymond James Stadium. It will only be the fourth home game of the season for Tampa Bay, who currently have a 2-1 record at home.
With the Buccaneers currently sitting at 3-5 on the season, the team realistically needs to go 7-1 the remainder of the way to give themselves a shot at the playoffs, so it’s safe to say that every game is a must-win for this football team.
The Washington Redskins are coming into Tampa with a 5-3 record, and currently lead the NFC East by one game over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Redskins just got beat badly at home b the Atlanta Falcons so there is no doubt that they will be looking to bounce back.
Sunday’s matchup will be the 23rd time these two teams have squared off and through the first 22 games, things have been pretty much dead even between these two franchises.
Below are some important stats to keep in mind as Sunday approaches.
Overall series record: Tampa Bay has gone 11-11 against Washington.
Last Matchup: Redskins beat the Buccaneers 31-30 in what is known as the “you like that game”
Last five matchups: Buccaneers are 2-3 in the last five against Washington
Bucs record at home vs the Redskins: 7-5.
Overall scoring comparison: Tampa Bay Buccaneers have scored 425 points, while Washington has scored 395 points.
