Chiefs-Rams matchup set for highest over-under total in NFL history

Las Vegas is expecting a record-setting number of points when the Chiefs play the Rams on Monday night.

The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Rams this Monday night (Have we told you about our watch party?), and whether it be because of the two head coaches involved, the high-powered offenses, the high elevation levels or maybe a little bit of everything, the matchup is set for a historic over-under total.

Pregame.com founder RJ Bell reports that the game’s over-under total of 63.5 will be the highest recorded in league history.

The Rams opened up as one-point favorites in the game over the Chiefs, but early betting has the Rams at current 2.5-point favorites, according to Bovada at the time of this writing.

ESPN reports this week explained that because of elevation levels in Mexico City, both the Chiefs and the Rams requested they play in Denver the week prior to the game.

With those requests denied, the Rams are spending the week of training in Colorado Springs, while the Chiefs will train in Kansas City, as they always do.

“We’re OK,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Monday during his weekly press conference. “We’re not that concerned about that. We’re just going to get ourselves ready to go play in front of great fans and against a real good football team.”

Give me the Chiefs plus the points and the over.
