Larry Fitzgerald said he’s never “seen a player like Tyreek Hill”

More than 10 years apart in age, Tyreek Hill and Larry Fitzgerald not only share a unique talent on the football field; they also share great admiration for one another

Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Larry Fitzgerald may be separated by more than a decade in age. But that hasn’t stopped them from sharing admiration for one another regarding what they can do on the football field

In the Kansas City Chiefs’ 26-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium, 24-year-old Tyreek Hill made a statement with seven receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns for the Chiefs.

Oh, and what may have been the best NFL celebration of the season.

Fitzgerald, despite only tallying six receptions for 50 yards, made his own statement when he moved into second place on the NFL’s all-time receiving-yardage list in the same game.

The bump came after a 15-yard catch late in the fourth quarter moved him up to 15,952 yards, past Terrell Owens in the rankings.

When asked about the achievement after the game, though, Fitzgerald had no interest in discussing it — given the losing effort. One topic he didn’t mind elaborating on, however, was Tyreek Hill.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a player like Tyreek Hill,” Fitzgerald said. “As explosive and dynamic as that guy is, he can hurt you in so many phases of the game. It was fun to see it in person.”

As it turns out, Tyreek Hill shares the same fondness for Fitzgerald, as he expressed in a Tweet post-game:

While Hill still has a quite a long way to go before he can surpass Fitzgerald in all-time receiving yards, he’s playing at a level — and with a quarterback — that has him on the right track.
