Eagles Fans Rooting Guide for NFL Week 9 Games

Here are the teams you should be rooting for ... and against.

Here’s a look at which teams Philadelphia Eagles fans should be rooting for during NFL Week 10 games.

EAGLES GAME

No Eagles game today. The Birds are on their bye.

NFC EAST GAMES

Atlanta Falcons at Washington Redskins: This 5-2 Washington team currently has a 1.5 game lead on the 4-4 Eagles. Washington also has only one opponent with a winning record on their remaining schedule. So, yeah, it’d be really nice if Washington lost today. The Falcons are less threatening to the Eagles in the NFC playoff picture anyway since Philly has a head-to-head tie-breaker over them. Root for the Falcons.

Tennessee Titans at Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys will drop to 3-5 with a loss to the Titans on Monday Night Football. The Eagles could then put them down to 3-6 and effectively end their season next weekend. Root for the Titans.

NFC GAMES

Chicago Bears at Buffalo Bills: Root for the AFC over the NFC team. Root for the Bills.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers: Carolina is the bigger threat in the NFC. Root for the Bucs.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have that head-to-head tie-breaker over the Eagles so it’d be better to see them drop. The Lions are less threatening anyway. Root for the Lions.

Los Angeles Chargers at Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks are quietly still a dangerous team in the NFC. Wouldn’t mind seeing the Bolts hand them a loss. Root for the Chargers.

Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints: I’d rather the Rams get the No. 1 seed than the Saints because Los Angeles is less tough to play than New Orleans. I won’t be shedding tears if the Rams have their perfect record blemished, though. Root against the Saints.

Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots: As always, keep Aaron Rodgers away from the playoffs. Root against the Packers.

DRAFT PICK WATCH

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens: This is a key game for draft pick watch. A Steelers win here puts a big dent in Baltimore’s playoff chances. With the Eagles giving up a 2019 third-round pick in the Golden Tate trade, it’d be especially nice for that Ravens second-round pick to be as good as possible for the Eagles. Root for the Steelers.

WHAT’S LEFT

Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns: The Chiefs need to keep winning to maintain their No. 1 seed status over the Patriots in the AFC. Root for the Chiefs.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins: It hurts the Giants when Sam Darnold plays well. Root for the Jets.

Houston Texans at Denver Broncos: The Eagles play the Texans in Week 16. Should Philadelphia find themselves in a spot where the “strength of victory” playoff seeding tie-breaker matters, it’s best for the Eagles to beat teams with strong records. Root for the Texans.

BYE WEEKS

Arizona Cardinals: The Cards are spending their bye week by admitting they were so stupid to sign Sam Bradford to a big money deal.

Cincinnati Bengals: Cincy returns from their bye to host the Saints next week.

Indianapolis Colts: Frank Reich’s squad will play the Jags in Week 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Next up is a game against the Colts.

New York Giants: The G-Men will return from their bye to play on Monday Night Football for the second time this season. Need them to start winning some games to screw up their draft positioning.

Philadelphia Eagles: Eagles versus Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field next Sunday night. Gonna be a big one.
