Jaguars sign OL Patrick Omameh, LB Martrell Spaight

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fourth-year linebacker Martrell Spaight and sixth-year offensive lineman Patrick Omameh.

To make room on the roster, the Jaguars released rookie cornerback Dee Delaney and placed fifth-year offensive lineman Brandon Linder on the team’s reserve/injured list.

Spaight has appeared in 34 career games for the Miami Dolphins and Washington, totaling 105 tackles and three passes defensed. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Spaight spent the 2015 season on Washington’s reserve/injured list after appearing in one game as a rookie. In his second season, Spaight played in 14 games, making one start, and totaled 28 tackles and one interception. In 2017, he appeared in 15 games with six starts and posted a career-high 75 tackles and two passes defensed.

Omameh has appeared in 60 career games, including 23 for the Jaguars during the 2016-17 seasons. Most recently Omameh signed as an unrestricted free agent with the New York Giants during the 2018 offseason and appeared in seven games for the Giants, making six starts, before being waived on November 10.

The Jaguars currently have 53 players on their active roster
