Kenny Vaccaro returns and other notes from the final Titans-Cowboys injury report

Titans getting healthy ahead of a very important game.

The final injury reports for the Titans-Cowboys matchup on Monday Night Football were released today. The news was mostly good for the Titans.

Starting safety Kenny Vaccaro will make his return in his home state of Texas, coming back from a dislocated elbow suffered in Week 4 against the Eagles. Getting Vaccaro back is big for the Titans defense as Kendrick Lewis has struggled to replace him in the lineup over the past three games.

The Titans will also get Quinton Spain and Josh Kline back this week. Spain missed the end of the Ravens game and the entire Chargers game with a shoulder injury while Kline left the Chargers game during the final drive with an ankle issue. The Titans have only had their starting offensive line intact for an entire game once this season. That just happened to be the best offensive performance of the season against the Eagles. The Titans will hope to see the big boys make it through this game unscathed.

Corey Davis will be a full go as expected after landing on the injury report with a hamstring early in the week. This seems to be part of the team’s plan to manage his reps in an effort to keep him healthy for

Will Compton has a chance to return to the lineup from a hamstring injury suffered at the end of the Eagles game. He’s listed as questionable. With Wesley Woodyard, Rashaan Evans, and Jayon Brown ahead of him at inside linebacker, Compton is more of a special teams contributor and depth player right now.

The bad news from a Titans perspective is that Derrick Morgan is officially out for this game with a shoulder injury. Morgan’s impact has been limited this season, but he’s still a veteran pass rusher who has a history of being productive. Brian Orakpo, Harold Landry, Kamalei Correa, and Sharif Finch will all likely get more work in Morgan’s absence.

The Cowboys will be without pass rushing defensive tackle David Irving and speedy gadget receiver Tavon Austin on Monday night as they have been ruled out. Irving is s particularly tough loss for Dallas as he’s easily the team’s best interior pass rusher.

The Cowboys have two players that are listed as questionable. Edge rusher Randy Gregory and two time All-Pro guard Zack Martin are both dealing with knee injuries and could be ruled in or out closer to game time. Martin is the best guard in the NFL so him being out or limited would make a big difference in what the Cowboys can do up front.

Starting tight end Geoff Swaim is listed as doubtful with a knee injury as well. He’s been decent in his first season as a starter, but this isn’t a position where the Cowboys excel. If Swaim can’t go Blake Jarwin and Rico Gathers would fill in.
