Eagles vs. Rams Final Injury Report: Carson Wentz doubtful, 4 players out, 3 questionable

Final injury update.

The Philadelphia Eagles released their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Carson Wentz, who missed the entire week of practice, has been ruled doubtful to play despite the fact Doug Pederson labeled him as “questionable” earlier in the day. Pederson said Wentz will travel with the team to Los Angeles. With Wentz likely out, it’ll be Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles starting for the Eagles on Sunday. Nate Sudfeld will be Foles’ backup.

Four players have been ruled OUT: Jordan Hicks, Timmy Jernigan, Sidney Jones, and Isaac Seumalo. None of these players practiced this week.

Hicks’ absence means Nigel Bradham will start in the middle with Kamu Grugier-Hill and Nathan Gerry also getting playing time.

Jernigan being out means Haloti Ngata will start next to Fletcher Cox. The backup defensive tackles are Treyvon Hester and Bruce Hector.

Jones being out means the Eagles will be starting Rasul Douglas and ... De’Vante Bausby? ... at cornerback. Yikes.

Seumalo’s absence means Stefen Wisniewski will return to the starting lineup at left guard.

Three players have been ruled QUESTIONABLE: Michael Bennett, Shelton Gibson, and Avonte Maddox. All three players were full participants on Friday, which seems to bode well for their chances of playing on Sunday.

It remains to be seen how Maddox will be used upon returning. Will he line up at safety, cornerback, or both? I’d guess Cre’Von LeBlanc stays as the nickel corner with Maddox playing more at safety, but we’ll see. I mean, does it really even matter at this point?

In case you missed it, the Eagles also placed Jordan Mailata on injured reserve.
