Another Sunday means another opportunity to watch the Jets...lose. That is the feeling the team is carrying at the moment, and fans can only hope that the misery brings wholesale organizational changes that hopefully helps redirect the arrow that is currently pointed squarely in the wrong direction. Nevertheless, we press on by wildly assuming the first 3⁄4 of the season was a mirage and by making totally reasonable predictions about their next game.
Disclaimer: A Bold Prediction is not something that is likely or probable to happen. Bold Predictions are blind guesses that are laughably optimistic beyond what anyone can reasonably expect to happen, but not so far as to be virtually impossible. Saying that Leonard Williams will get a sack is not a Bold Prediction, nor is saying that Bilal Powell will run for 650 yards. By definition, Bold Predictions are unlikely, but not impossible, to occur. Since this is a Jets site, they are also pro-Jets predictions. As always, the Final Score prediction is meant to be realistic, not a Bold Prediction.
Here are my five bold predictions for tomorrow’s game:
- The Jets record 5+ sacks.
- Two Jets backs catch a touchdown.
- The Jets defense forces 3 turnovers.
- The Jets do not turnover the ball.
- Josh McCown posts a 110+ passer rating, throwing for 250+ yards and 3+ TDs.
And a bonus prediction: The announcers hardly mention the history of the Jets/Titans, and only reference it 200,000 times.
Final Score: It’s getting to be hard to be optimistic about any opponent, and the Titans are a pretty solid football team that really just struggles with inconsistency. They had the doors blown off and look to right the ship, and will 24-13.
