Julio Jones didn’t mince words when talking to reporters this week.
Ahead of the Week 14 matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Green Bay Packers, star wide receiver Julio Jones didn’t hold back when talking to the media. The former No. 6 overall pick out of the University of Alabama says that the Falcons aren’t playing for pride, but rather to “whoop someone’s a**.”
Julio Jones with the line of the day: We aren’t going to play for pride. We’re playing to whoop someone’s a**

The question about playing for pride is a fair one, as the Falcons currently sit in the NFC South cellar with a 4-8 record, with their playoff hopes having gone the way of the Dodo and into extinction.
Atlanta has lost four games in a row and frustration seems to be running rampant through the team facility at Flowery Branch, leading to a refreshingly more candid Dan Quinn and questions as to just how hot the head coach’s seat is in Atlanta.
While the Falcons haven’t played up to expectations this season, the same can’t be said of Jones, who’s putting together another Pro Bowl-worthy season. Julio leads the league with 1,323 receiving yards (second-placed Adam Thielen has over 100 fewer yards with 1,166), and he’s matched his touchdown total from last season with four games left to play.
The Falcons take on the 4-7-1 Packers, who have also disappointed with their performance this season, this Sunday at 1 p.m. The last time Atlanta traveled to Lambeau Field, Julio Jones recorded a then career-high 259 receiving yards on Monday Night Football.
