Raiders bring back Kony Ealy, send Martavis Bryant, Shilique Calhoun to injured reserve

Less than a week ago, Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson sounded quite certain Martavis Bryant would be back this season from a PCL injury. The next day, he returned to practice and was a limited participant. Bryant didn’t play Sunday against the Chiefs and Come Monday Jon Gruden said he had “no sense” of when wide receiver Martavis Bryant would return to the lineup. Wednesday, Gruden said the team was placing Bryant on injured reserve.

He also announced that Shilique Calhoun had suffered an injury and would be heading to injured reserve. Calhoun’s departure along with the release of Fadol Brown have the Raiders bringing in a couple other free agent pass rushers.

“We’re going to bring back Kony Ealy as well,” said Gruden Wednesday. “Damontre Moore is a guy that has a little history here. We’ve seen him play, we’ve had some association with him. We’ll put Shilique Calhoun on injured reserve, he’s hurt. We let Fadol Brown go, so we’re going to bring in Ealy and Damontre Moore to fill that void.”

Ealy signed with the team a couple weeks ago along with Jacquies Smith. Ealy was inactive on game day and was waived the next day. Since then Smith has been sent to injured reserve and now Ealy is back.

Moore spent camp with the Raiders in 2016. He appeared in six games for the Seahawks and Cowboys in 2016-17 respectively. He hasn’t played this season.
