With Raiders right tackle Brandon Parker struggling as a rookie, the Raiders could certainly use some help on the offensive line. That help might be coming in the form of the original starting right tackle this season.
I am told that left tackle Donald Penn will return to practice today. #Raiders will have a three-week window to bring him back off IR

Penn was designated to return from the IR on Tuesday and if he does return from the IR, that will shut the door on any return from others on the Raiders IR list including Marshawn Lynch.
It remains to be seen whether Penn will be with the Raiders next year, as he is a strong candidate to be a cap casualty, but if he can come back this year and help keep Derek Carr upright it would be a good thing for the team.
Penn struggled to adapt initially to his new role at left tackle this season and suffered a leg injury in the Week 4 win against the Browns that has kept him out of action until now. Penn is under contract for next year as well, and he’ll have to prove to the Raiders that he belongs on the field. Hopefully, he will have that chance soon.
