You will rarely see any team field as many rookies as the Raiders did on Sunday. They had 12 rookies play meaningful snaps. Many of whom made big plays that led to the team putting up their second win of the season 24-21 over the Cardinals.

Kolton Miller
It’s been a rough season for Miller to say the least. And Sunday was his roughest game of the season. He gave up two sacks and 8 pressures in the game as well as four run stops. A false start penalty with the team in goal to go at the three-yard-line forced them to settle for a field goal. He has now given up a league-high 14 sacks and 59 pressures. Some of that can be blamed on his knee sprain in week four, but how much, we don’t know. It could just as easily be that he is not ready to be a full time starting left tackle at this level.
P.J. Hall
While Miller was having his worst game, Hall was having his best game. Hall was a force on the defensive line, clogging lanes and shedding blockers to make stops. He also produced some pressure inside. He is stout with powerful legs to get up into blockers and hold his ground.
Brandon Parker
There were worse offenders on the offensive line in their terrible performance in Cincinnati, but Parker wasn’t great either. And you figure anything is better than his game in week 12 when he gave up three sacks IN A ROW.
In this one, he didn’t give up any of the five sacks the Raiders surrendered. He did, however, give up some pressures. The first was a hit on Derek Carr to end the Raiders third possession with a three-and-out. In the fourth quarter, with the team in need of a score, he gave up a pressure resulting in an incomplete pass on a screen attempt that put them in third and ten. They couldn’t pick it up and settled for a field goal. Earlier, with the team in first and goal at the 7-yard-line he was flagged for a false start. They again settled for a field goal.
Arden Key
Key is getting some pressure here and there, but still can’t seem to get home. Though he was screwed again by the officials on a bogus taunting penalty. This is becoming a thing.
Nick Nelson
He saw just 20 snaps in the game. His snaps have gone down since Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs ate him alive in week 13. Rookie’s gonna rookie. He had one good play against the Bengals where he came up to help out, teaming up with PJ Hall on a tackle for loss on third down. Key set it up by getting into the backfield on the play. So, it was a rookie party on that play.
Maurice Hurst
Hurst has had a good season overall. He didn’t keep containment to allow quarterback Jeff Driskel to pick up 15 yards on a scramble and later gave up an 11-yard run. He also had a great play to shed his blocker and disrupt a screen pass. It’s impressive plays like that which show is immense talent and potential.
Johnny Townsend
He’s still ranked as the worst punter in the NFL in both average (42.9) and net average (37.7). His 38.2 yards per punt against the Bengals didn’t help that.
Marcell Ateman
He made two catches on five targets for 20 yards. He also nearly got Derek Carr picked off when he ran the wrong route. Luckily for him, the defender dropped it. He has 14 catches for 147 yards in five games since being called up from the practice squad.
Jason Cabinda
The undrafted rookie has been splitting time with Marquel Lee. He had four tackles (all solo) against the Bengals along with a QB hit.
Trent Sieg
All conditions normal for Sieg. No news is good news for the long snapper.
Daniel Carlson
The Special Teams Player of the Week for week 11, Carlson’s impressive season continued. He hit all three of his field goals Sunday, including a 50-yarder. His season total is now 13 of 14 and he has hit 12 straight.
Cameron Hunt
Was active as the backup center but didn’t play.
