Steve Wilks likely to be let go, but if he stays, changes would be necessary per report

If the Cardinals keep Steve Wilks on board, he'd have to bring in a new offensive and defensive coordinator.

The writing has been on the wall for Steve Wilks since the loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Yet, it has not been confirmed or reporter by the team, which means we still have to wait for the final call.

That’s why, when Ian Rapoport reports on the coaching landscape of the NFC, we still listen.

He had an interesting nugget on what happens IF the Cardinals decide to keep Wilks on board another year:

"Cardinals: For weeks, it’s been clear that the Cardinals are mulling moving on from coach Steve Wilks. As of now, it would be a major surprise if they stuck with him for 2019, despite Larry Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson publicly stumping for Wilks. GM Steve Keim has already done research to prepare for a move. If he does somehow stay, Wilks would be expected to make major staff changes, including moving on from both coordinators. One option on offense if he did stay would be to bring in Jim Caldwell (if he doesn’t get a head job) to call plays and help develop QB Josh Rosen. But at this point, Wilks may not get the opportunity to offer that."

Jim Caldwell would not move the needle as an offensive coordinator for most fans. However, he has been a quality offensive mind in the NFL for years, actually decades, and has done a nice job with quarterbacks, which is what matters in this offseason for the Cardinals.

If the Cardinals were to keep Wilks, which is doubtful, would Caldwell as offensive coordinator change your opinion and optimism going into 2019?
