Week 16 PFF insights: Calais Campbell is an absolute beast

Pro Football Focus is charting everything when it comes to the 2018 NFL regular season and that includes the Week 16 matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins.

So who was the cream of the crop and who did poorly last Sunday? Let’s check it out!

Offense

  • Leonard Fournette proved difficult to tackle with six forced missed tackles against the Dolphins. His six avoided tackles while running the ball were the second most of any runner in Week 16 and his elusive rating of 68.3 ranked 11th among 37 running backs.
  • The Jaguars highest graded player on offense was tight end Ben Koyack with an overall PFF grade of 82.3. He was the ninth highest graded tight end in Week 16 and was vital to the success of the run game with a 74.4 run blocking grade

Defense

  • Edge defender Calais Campbell continued his excellent season with a season high PFF grade of 94.0 versus the Dolphins. His 94.0 grade was the highest by an edge defender in Week 16 including an elite 95.9 grade against the run, which again was the highest by an edge defender this week.
  • Another defender who earned a season high PFF grade was linebacker Telvin Smith, his 90.3 overall grade ranked second among LBs. Smith was dominant in coverage with an elite 91.0 coverage grade, allowing a passer rating of just 48.6 when targeted which including an interception returned for a touchdown.
