The Jacksonville Jaguars have (seemingly?) released veteran tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins after one lackluster season that included underwhelming results and some bad injury luck.
Appreciate the time Jax! It wasn’t what we wanted! But I’m happy y’all supported me and my teammates! Next chapter
— A. Seferian-Jenkins (@Aesj88) January 24, 2019
There was a lot of excitement for Seferian-Jenkins when he was signed but he appeared in just five games this year, catching 11 passes for 90 yards and one touchdown. Those are all career lows.
UPDATE:
The Jaguars have stated no decision has been made on Jenkin’s option.
Regarding TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins’s roster status with the @Jaguars:
— Tad Dickman (@TDickman89) January 24, 2019
The club has until Feb. 19 to make a decision on his 2019 option, which would be the 2nd season of a 2-year deal.
The team HAS NOT made a decision on his 2019 option. Any reports to the contrary are false.
