Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Bob Kuechenberg passed away this morning at the age of 71. Kuechenberg is known by many long time Dolphins fans as being an important part of a Dolphins squad that won back to back Super Bowls as well as being part of the 72 Dolphins, the only team in NFL history to go undefeated. Bob was affectionately know by many fans as just “Kooch”.
Kuechenberg played for the Dolphins for a total of 14 season, from 1970 until 1983. During those 14 years Bob made the Pro Bowl six times, was selected All Pro in both 1975 and 1978 and second team All Pro in 1977. Kuechenberg is also part of the Miami Dolphins honor roll.
After announcing the passing of Kuechenberg the Miami Dolphins tweeted “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Bob Kuechenberg”. Cause of death has not as of yet been reported.
