Well, that’s news to me.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has recovered from his MCL sprain, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
This is news to me because I had no idea that Brady had an MCL sprain.

“[Brady] is as healthy as he’s been at any time this year, heading into today,” Rapoport said before Sunday’s game between the Patriots and the Los Angeles Chargers. “But that is because he has not been healthy at various points this season. I’m told that he suffered an MCL sprain when we was going out for a pass against the Tennessee Titans earlier in the season. It was obvious he was limping, we saw him adjusting his knee brace, we saw him cut short his warmups. Brady has been injured and he was on the injury report for several weeks. The bye helped.”
So apparently Brady sprained his MCL when he went for an awkward reception against the Titans and that limited him over the final stretch of the season.
In the six games after the Titans game, Brady was a “mere” 133/199 (66.8%) for 1,607 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. That’s a passer rating of 103.2. So. Not bad.
But whatever negative affect Brady suffered from that sprain is in the past and he showed it with a sterling performance against the Chargers. Hopefully he has another great game in his back pocket as the Patriots tacke on the Kansas City Chiefs.
