Can anything be read from the offensive coordinator not talking with reporters?
At one point in time, Scott Linehan served as the head coach of the Rams, although they were in St. Louis and not Los Angeles. On Saturday night, he served as the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys who saw their season end to his old team.
Linehan’s offense has hardly been one of a record-setting nature this season, it’s come under on a regular basis. The Cowboys have had one of the NFL’s more stale offenses and that was partly the reason why they were spelled from the playoffs out in Los Angeles.
The internet can be an unforgiving place and as you can imagine it hasn’t been too kind to Scott Linehan. With an opportunity to address the situation that unfolded against the Rams, Linehan refused to meet with reporters following the loss.

It’s difficult for any of us to imagine what living that life is like. It can’t feel great to have so many people calling for you to lose your job and hurling all sorts of insults at your life’s work. That much is undeniable.
As true as that is though, this is pretty unacceptable from Linehan. The Cowboys custom-tailored the offensive coaching staff to his liking back in the offseason and his unit failed them. The very least he could do is face the music about it similar to the way Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey did following his team’s loss in the Wild Card Round.
There is a contingent of Cowboys fans that want Scott Linehan to be coaching elsewhere next season, although this is kind of the same thing that was said a year ago. Will Jason Garrett finally reach a point where he has no choice, though? We’ll find out soon enough as we’re officially in the offseason.
