You asked for it and you got it.
Buffalo Bills fans recently told us they would be interested seeing how former Bills players have been doing in the Alliance of American Football (AAF). Starting off with former members that are in managerial roles in the league we have Bill Polian who was a co-founder of the AAF. Also, Pete Metzelaars is the offensive-line coach for the Atlanta Legends.
When we get to the players, the Birmingham Iron has former Bills’ punter Colton Schmidt. In his first game he had three punts averaging 44 yards with two punts downed inside the ten-yard line. Cornerback Rob Brooks made an impact in his first game with the San Diego Fleet, notching three tackles and an interception on the day.
One of the more interesting players for the Bills who was on the team and then off the team a couple of times is Kaelin Clay, who now plays for the Salt Lake Stallions. However, he did not have any catches in his team’s first game of the season. Some notable offensive lineman playing in the AAF include Cyril Richardson, Marquis Lucas, Mo Porter, and Chris Martin.
Like many of you, we’re interested to see how all of these former players perform. Perhaps even a few can earn another shot with the Bills going into next season.
