Charley Casserly has released his first mock draft of the 2019 NFL Draft season. Congratulations to Casserly for making a rational pick for the Titans. He, like Kiper yesterday, gave the Titans a Clemson defensive lineman...just not the same Clemson defensive lineman. This time the pick for the Titans was Dexter Lawrence. Casserly’s comments:
They could use an interior O-lineman, but the top players at the position are already off the board. The decision comes down to a speedy WR vs. a DT, and they go with the latter.
Lawrence missed the end of the Clemson season because he was suspended for taking a PED that could have “inadvertently” been given to him by the Clemson staff.
Of course Lawrence will have a lot of questions to answer about this at the combine. He told The Post and Courier that he will just tell the truth when teams ask him how the banned substance got in his system:
“Just tell the truth,” he said. “That’s all I can do. It was heartbreaking when I heard about it, but it’s just life. You’ve got to be tested sometimes just to bring out your character, and that’s how I’m going about it.”
Would you be a fan of this pick for the Titans?
