Cowboys exec Stephen Jones shades Raiders over Amari Cooper trade

The acquisition of Amari Cooper in October without question contributed significantly to the Dallas Cowboys turning around their 2018 season. Given how the trade was a boon for the Cowboys, it’s hardly surprising team executives have no regrets over giving up a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for the superstar wide receiver. With all that in mind, Cowboys executive vice president, CEO and director of player personnel Stephen Jones could not help but take a dig at the Raiders while speaking to reporters Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. Big things were expected out of Cooper immediately upon the Cowboys’ acquisition of the wideout, who was languishing on a feeble Raiders team. Even Cooper himself could scarcely contain his excitement upon his arrival in Big D, and even the superstar receiver Cooper effectively replaced on the Cowboys praised the move.
