Charles Johnson also had a big game as Orlando beat San Antonio.
Jayrone Elliott always had a knack for making big plays when he was a member of the Green Bay Packers. In his three years in Green Bay, Elliott recorded just four sacks, but his game against the Seattle Seahawks in week two of the 2015 season will not soon be forgotten by Packers fans.
Down the stretch in that game, Elliott made two massive plays. First, he intercepted Russell Wilson on a screen pass intended for Marshawn Lynch, giving the Packers the football back up seven points with just under seven minutes to go. Then with just 50 seconds remaining and Seattle trying to mount an improbable comeback. Elliott forced Fred Jackson to fumble in the middle of the field, leading to Micah Hyde falling on the football and the Packers kneeling out the win.
On Sunday, Elliott was back to his big-play self while playing for the San Antonio Commanders of the AAF. Midway through the third quarter of San Antonio’s game against the Orlando Apollos, Elliott, lined up on the right side of the defense, beat the Apollos’ left tackle with a speed rush around the end to sack quarterback Garrett Gilbert and force the football loose.
The man on the spot to pick up that football was another former Packer: defensive tackle Joey Mbu, who spent training camp in Green Bay last summer. Mbu hauled in the football at the eight-yard line and rumbled into the end zone for a touchdown, giving San Antonio a 29-17 lead after a successful two-point conversion.

The Commanders went on to lose the game, allowing a field goal late in the third quarter and 17 more fourth-quarter points to fall 37-29. However, it was this combination of former Packers who made the biggest play in that game for San Antonio.
In this game, former Packers draft pick Charles Johnson also had a massive performance. Johnson caught seven passes for a whopping 192 yards and a touchdown. Orlando moved to 2-0 on the young season while San Antonio fell to 1-1.
