Jaguars “very interested” in Steelers TE Jesse James

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball — quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and the right side of the offensive line are all needs.

But the tight end position is flying under the radar and it’s lowkey one of the most desperate positions on the team. Austin Seferian-Jenkins won’t be with the team next year and James O’Shaughnessy was the group’s receiving leader at just 24 catches for 214 yards last year.

To that end, NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline recently said on his podcast that the Jaguars were one of two teams “very interested” in Jesse James this offseason, a tight end going into his fifth year this season and who has been steadily getting more productive each season:

“Presently, I’m told that the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills are two teams very interested in James once he hits the open market.”

It would make a ton of sense for the Jaguars to be interested in a mid-tier tight end. Their draft strategy should be to get at least one before the end of Day 2 in a deep tight end crop and pair them with a Jesse James-tier player to get a lot more production out of the position than in recent years.

What do you think? Would you like the Jaguars to sign Jesse James — or should they go all in on a rookie and use what they have at the position? Let us know in the comments below!
