As we head into the 2019 NFL Combine it’s become apparent that there are some interesting things going on.
Three of the most hyped prospects coming into the process, Josh Jacobs, Jawaan Taylor, Deionte Thompson and of course the one and only Kyler Murray have bowed out of doing most of if not all of the workouts of the 2019 NFL Combine.
It’s quite the juxtaposition from those like Nick Bosa and even N’Keal Harry who took heat for missing team games and their bowl games.
However, they’re healthy and ready to go for their work at the combine.
Which begs the question, are they injured, hiding, or all of the above?
I’ve always wondered when perceived top picks, Jacobs is looked at as RB1, Taylor as OT1, Murray at worst QB2 and Thompson as S1, bypass athletic testing, is it because it can only hurt them? The physical measurements and meetings will answer all the questions on Murray, while the others will just need to pass physicals, but what is the point in not working out?
It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. Obviously Taylor has a medical letter from Dr. James Andrews, so his hamstring issue is documented, but for the rest, what was the hesitation to take time off and waiting until now?
