Report: Bears inquired about trading for John Ross

The Bears are reported to be checking on the availability of speedy wide out John Ross.

Yesterday, Draft Analyst’s Troy Pauline reported that the Cincinnati Bengals were shopping wide receiver John Ross, and they would field offers at the NFL Combine. Ross was a surprising first round draft pick in the 2017 NFL Draft going ninth overall to Cincinnati. He was a good player for the Washington Huskies in 2016 recording 81 receptions and 1,150 yards, but it was his blistering 4.22 forty yard dash at the combine that made scouts take notice.

Ross missed most of his rookie year, but he bounced back in 2018 with 21 catches, 210 yards and 7 touchdowns.

On Pauline’s recent podcast, he specifically mentions the Chicago Bears as a team that checked in on Ross’ availability. He also speculates that a team would likely need to offer up a third round pick for Ross.

The Bears currently have Allen Robinson II, Taylor Gabriel, and Anthony Miller as their top three wide outs, with Javon Wims also under contract. Kevin White and Josh Bellamy are both free agents.

Do you guys think this is simply general manager Ryan Pace doing his due diligence or is there a desire to add another speedster to his receiving corps?
