[Video] Anatomy of a Play: The Trubisky-Cohen Connection

With the season in the books, Robert S. kicks off a new series dedicated to analyzing the underrated plays of 2018. The first play up for review is Trubisky’s “poor throw” touchdown to Tarik Cohen in Week 15

Hey Bears fans! I’m kicking off a new series, Anatomy of a Play, aimed at combing through some of the “hidden gems” of 2018 — while many of the plays from last season got plenty of attention (Mack’s pick-6, Willy Wonka, Santa’s Sleigh, etc), there are still tons of plays from all throughout the year that have something to tell us. Some of these plays involve outstanding individual efforts, while others give us insight into what makes Nagy’s offensive creativity so special. There were a lot of plays to choose from, but I’ll start off with one near and dear to my own heart.

I’m starting with the “terrible throw” touchdown pass that Mitch threw to Cohen in Week 15. I remember plenty around the national media (and here) using this play as an example of how Mitch was getting away with bad throws, but I think they’re all wrong; In fact, I think Trubisky placed the ball exactly where he intended to. With that in mind, I take to film to prove it — check it out!

So what do you think? Do you still think it was a terrible throw?

Also, if you like what I’m doing, feel free to subscribe to my channel! I plan on doing plenty more analytical videos between continuing this series and other breakdowns all throughout the offseason.
