The Cowboys are working through their free agent and player extension options.
The Cowboys have a lot of hurdles to overcome this offseason, many of which are contractual. Decisions need to be made regarding DeMarcus Lawrence and potentially both Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.
The NFL Combine gets underway this week and with it comes word from the Cowboys front office. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Stephen Jones gave us some interesting tidbits of information.
An offer has been made to DeMarcus Lawrence
It should come as no surprise that the Cowboys have made an offer to Tank. Whether he accepts it or not will be the long process. There will likely be plenty of back and forth.
Cowboys COO Stephen Jones on DeMarcus Lawrence: “We’ve made our first offer, and we’re gonna meet with his representatives here at the combine. ... I don’t know about the timing, but I’m confident we can get a deal done.”

It’s likely going to take upwards of $20M per year to get Tank to sign a long-term contract considering that’s what he would make under the tag this year. That’s a lot of money.
The Cowboys want to pay Dak Prescott this offseason
Whether Dak gets paid seems to be more of a “when” question as opposed to an “if” one, and it seems as if that when is approaching rather soon. Stephen Jones also said that the Cowboys want to get a Dak deal done this offseason.
Stephen Jones said the team wants to get a deal done with QB Dak Prescott this offseason because its the right thing to do and he deserves it

Update: 1:35pm ET
Stephen Jones also had a bit to say regarding Ezekiel Elliott, Sean Lee, Allen Hurns, and Cole Beasley.
Cowboys VP Stephen Jones: “We’ve got it budgeted that we’re going to pay Zeke a significant contract at some point. ... We certainly saw what Gurley got paid and we know that’s probably where it starts, and we’ll go from there.”

Stephen Jones also intimated Sean Lee’s return but there’s a possibility he won’t return for the same base salary of $7 million.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said he expects Allen Hurns to remain on the roster and be ready to go by training camp. Jones said they want Cole Beasley to re-sign but if he doesn’t, Hurns will be an option at slot receiver

One note on Allen Hurns, Cowboys have until March 13 to pick up his $4 million option for 2019.
