Should the Eagles be interested in recently reinstated Karlos Williams? - BGN
It’s no secret that the running back situation in Philadelphia is a bit up in the air as we head into the offseason. There’s a host of young rushers still under contract, Jay Ajayi’s future with the team is unknown, and there’s been no shortage of rumors surrounding free agents like Le’Veon Bell, and even some former Eagles like LeSean McCoy, LeGarrette Blount and Kenjon Barner. Earlier this offseason there was also speculation that the team could be interested in recently suspended/dropped Kareem Hunt — who ended up being signed by the Browns — which makes running back Karlos Williams being reinstated by the league this week somewhat intriguing.

Couple of Updates - Iggles Blitz
It is interesting that both came out of nowhere, to a certain extent. Lovato replaced Jon Dorenbos. At the time, Lovato had 7 games under his belt. The Eagles thought he was ready to be their regular snapper and took a chance on him. So far, so good. We all miss the fun that Dorenbos brought to the team, but Lovato has more than filled his shoes on Sundays. Elliott was signed off the Bengals practice squad when the Eagles were desperate due to injury. That turned out to be a lucky break. Elliott has been great since coming over. He has the potential to some day go down as the best kicker in team history. That will take quite a while, but he’s off to a strong start.
Eagles Mailbag: Most pressing needs in draft and free agency - NBCSP
I think there will be some overlapping here and it’s a little harder because free agency obviously comes before the draft, but if I have to put them into categories, here’s my best guess: Free agency: Receiver, linebacker, running back. Draft: Defensive end, defensive tackle, offensive tackle. The Eagles have tried to find speed in free agency over the past couple years, so there’s a pattern there. I think there’s a chance they’ll sign a running back and draft one, so I could have put that in either. I haven’t liked a lot of what I’ve seen from this linebacker draft class, so maybe they sign one, although that position has been devalued in recent years.

Byron Murphy, Washington: Murphy is a player who I can’t wait to study even more film of because I really liked what I’ve seen so far. While he’s a bit skinny at 182 pounds, the redshirt sophomore corner is very light on his feet but he’s got a mean streak to boot. I watched him come downhill and lay out receivers in the flat on numerous occasions. He was an opportunistic player who posted great production in just 20 starts for the Huskies. Murphy has to prove that he’s big enough and strong enough to play 16 games on the outside, but the play personality and athletic traits are very, very intriguing. I expect him to look very smooth in drills with the athleticism and range to get out and make plays on the football out on the turf in Indy.

So if we concede that Brown will play for a different organization next season, the question becomes which NFL teams should pursue him. The answer is simple: all of them. There are a few trade partners who we can obviously take off the table. The Steelers have made it known that they won’t deal Brown inside the AFC North or to the Patriots. There are also a handful of teams whose financial restrictions would likely preclude a deal, namely the Jaguars, Eagles, Vikings, Saints, and Bears.

After the NFC title game, a more literal Saints theft occurred. A game-worn Michael Thomas jersey, along with a game-worn and signed jersey and gloves from Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz were stolen from a bag on Jan. 20 about 6 p.m.
What charges could mean for Patriots owner Robert Kraft - ESPN
There isn’t much precedent here, but most recently Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was suspended six games and fined $500,000 in 2014. Irsay had been arrested on drug charges and ultimately pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Irsay also admitted to a judge that he was under the influence of the painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone. In 2010, Detroit Lions team president Tom Lewand was suspended for 30 days and fined $100,000 after a guilty plea to driving while impaired. Lewand and Irsay pleaded guilty, but Kraft denies he broke the law. That will be determined by the judicial process. But the NFL has made clear that guilty verdicts aren’t required for league discipline. The policy states: “It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. We are all held to a higher standard and must conduct ourselves in a way that is responsible, promotes the values of the NFL, and is lawful.”

Odell Beckham Jr. to the 49ers: The 49ers and Giants aren’t out-of-division rivals to the extent of, say, the Cowboys, but the 49ers have some history with the Giants that make the team a natural enemy of San Francisco’s fans. That’s only a small part of why I, a 49ers fan, would love to have Beckham (the January 2012 NFC Championship Game still haunts me). He is a fit for essentially any offense in the NFL, and Kyle Shanahan would love to have him on hand for Jimmy Garoppolo in 2019. Beckham would help them be competitive immediately, too. The team has both the cap space and draft capital to make a deal for him, and decent supporting receivers that could flourish with Beckham covered by multiple defensive backs in Marquise Goodwin, Kendrick Bourne, Trent Taylor, and tight end George Kittle. — James Brady
