Former undrafted free agent has spent his four-year NFL career with the Houston Texans.
The Cleveland Browns continued to work on their offensive line depth on Friday with the signing of free agent tackle Kendall Lamm.

The deal is reportedly for two years and slightly more than $7 million, according to The Houston Chronicle. However, Spotrac is reporting the deal is two years for $4.5 million, which includes a $600,000 signing bonus. Either way, the Browns did not exactly break the bank to sign Lamm.
Lamm has spent his four-year NFL career with the Houston Texans, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State in 2015. He played in 55 games with the Texans, making 24 starts - including 13 last season at right tackle.
It was his first season as a full-time starter and Lamm had to deal with some off-field family issues, as he explained to Aaron Wilson at The Houston Chronicle:
“This year has been a whirlwind for me, dealing with things back home like my grandmother having cancer, dealing with things with my mom and family in general. During the season, I try to block it out the best I can and take advantage of this opportunity. It’s been a blessing. I will remember every season, but this will hold a special place for me, especially from the standpoint that many people said I couldn’t do it.
”That, for me, proving myself right is what I’m about. I got to play a lot this year, and it was a major blessing, and if I can pinpoint more things in my game like I did this past offseason, that will allow me to be successful. That is what I’m about.”
Houston allowed a league-high 62 sacks last season, which may explain why Lamm was available in free agency. And Sean Pendergast of the Houston Press was not as enthusiastic about Lamm’s season:
Lamm is a weird one. I thought he would have been cut two seasons ago, but here he was starting half the season last year, and playing kind of okay at right tackle (which is All Pro level compared to left tackle Julien Davenport). Could some team throw a few million at him for a year or two as a swing tackle? Maybe? I guess? Either way, I think the Texans may want to do some tearing down on the offensive line, and moving on from Lamm may be part of that.
The Lamm signing comes a day after the Browns signed veteran offensive guard Eric Kush to a contract.
