Could the Browns move on from Kevin Zeitler?

NFL free agency is just a few days away and the Jacksonville Jaguars will be a little busy — not like in years past where they spent money all over the place on both sides of the ball, but they have a little bit of cap room and I wouldn’t be surprised if they went after one top-tier free agent at a position of need.

Offensive line, anybody?

NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala is reporting that the Cleveland Browns could be moving on from former first round offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler and while teams with a ton of cap space like the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts might make more sense, right guard is a glaring need for this team.

Granted, Zeitler isn’t a free agent so the team would have to trade assets as well as take on his $12.5 million per year contract that runs through 2021, but the Jaguars have two things working in their favor...

First, there’s an out in Zeitler’s contract where they could cut him after this season with only $4.8 million in dead cap.

Second, as Kinkhabwala says, the Browns drafted Austin Corbett at the top of the second round in the 2018 NFL Draft to play guard.

Personally, I don’t think it happens, but there was “lots of talk” he could come to Jacksonville two years ago when he hit the open market.

What do you think? Could Zeitler be a target for the Jaguars when teams start shuffling their rosters? Or will they save their cap room for someone else? Let us know in the comments below!
