The New Orleans Saints sent a perfect tweet in response to the news on Tuesday about the NFL approving challenges regarding pass interference. The NFL’s competition committee met and approved expanded challenges. Challenges are now allowed for pass interference or uncalled pass interference outside of two minutes. Inside of two minutes, the plays are reviewed by the booth. What did the Saints think of the news? Yup, pretty much. The uncalled pass interference and hit to the head of a receiver in the NFC Championship Game was a major factor in determining which team advanced to the Super Bowl. The Saints are smiling because had the play in question been reviewable, a penalty would have been called and the Saints would have been able to have a winning field goal shot with no time left. As Sean Payton said at the time, that was a Super Bowl call, one the league quickly admitted it got wrong.
