A.J. Green will be brought along slowly, but Andy Dalton expects to be ready to go for training camp.
The Bengals’ offense languished at the end of the 2018 season, but part of that had to do with the two most important players suffering season ending injuries.
A.J. Green is recovering from a toe injury, while Dalton is recovering from his second season-ending thumb injury. Their injuries were a big reason why the Bengals finished 2-9 last season after beginning 4-1 and appeared well on their way to the playoffs.
Both figure to be ready by the beginning of the next season, fortunately enough.
According to the Bengals’ website, “Both Green (toe) and Dalton (thumb), who suffered season-ending injuries last year, say they’re ready to go.
“Dalton figures to be on the field in six weeks when the practices start, but look for them to ease Green along. But Green did run with the team Tuesday.”
The first two picks of the Bengals’ 2011 draft both went under the knife during the season, but are well on their way to recovery.
Green saw one of the best foot specialists in the country, but the Bengals don’t want to risk aggravating his toe. A healthy Green is one of the most important things the Bengals can have.
