The Rams build in the trenches to help stay atop the NFC.
The Los Angeles Rams took the NFL by storm in 2018. Sean McVay had the entire league rethinking their strategy both towards roster building and the structure of their offense. Heading into the Super Bowl, it seemed like the league was going through a transition. The old-style New England Patriots would be handing the torch to the new, flashy team from LA.
Of course, the Patriots would end up humbling the Rams in a big way. The Rams’ dazzling fireworks had been thoroughly extinguished by the Patriots defense.
But there’s no reason to believe the Rams are going anywhere any time soon or that they’ve been figured out. The foundation of this team remains, and no one can deny McVay’s brilliance.
So, with the 31st pick in the Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, commenter Mr. Zebra must make a move as acting Rams GM to keep them at the top of the conference. With the Rams’ first-round selection, Mr. Zebra has taken NC State center Garrett Bradbury. Here’s the explanation:
“So, like, I saw the way the draft had gone and I was like, “Oh my god, this is, like, totally bizarre! Thirteen defensive linemen taken already is SO not cool. And, like, seriously out of step with previous years. Like, last year there were, like, five in the first round. And in 2017 there were, like, seven, and in 2016, also seven. So now, like, the number has totally doubled. As if.”
Whatever. For the Los Angeles Rams, I’m, like, drafting Garrett Bradbury, center, North Carolina State. He’s seriously, like, the best center in the draft, and offense is what this team is built on, for sure. That was SO how we won the Super Bowl, I think? Anyway, I am, like, totally late for vegan hot yoga spinning class. Have fun with the rest of the draft!
