Friday is the first time the Raiders’ rookies will take the field. It’s Rookie minicamp and the team is busy ensuring that several of those rookies hit that field with their contract behind them.
Thursday the team made a flurry of moves, signing fourth round edge rusher Maxx Crosby, cornerback Isaiah Johnson, tight end Foster Moreau, fifth round wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, and seventh round edge rusher Quinton Ball to their 4-year rookie deals. I can just picture the line out the door to get the deals done.
There isn’t really any wiggle room in these contracts, especially the later ones, so there is no reason for a holdup. Best to get them done and out of the way so these guys can go start their NFL careers.
The Raiders had a total of nine selections in the 2019 draft. Their top four picks from day one and two are still remaining to be signed. They are:
Round 1, pick 4: Clelin Ferrell
Round 1, pick 24: Josh Jacobs
Round 1, pick 27: Johnathan Abram
Round 2, pick 40: Trayvon Mullen
