Arizona Cardinals sign camp tryout running back Dontae Strickland to contract

The Arizona Cardinals were busy following their rookie mini-camp.

Not only did they sign small school prospect Tyler Sigler from Wheaton College, but they also signed running back Dontae Strickland from Syracuse.

Strickland (5-11, 201) was a three-year starter at Syracuse and played 47 games (27 starts) in his collegiate career, rushing for 1,717 yards and 15 touchdowns on 432 carries. He also had 63 receptions for 505 yards and four touchdowns. A Dayton, NJ native, Strickland’s 63 receptions rank third all-time in Syracuse school history among running backs. As a senior in 2018, he played in all 13 games and ran for a career-high 588 yards and six touchdowns.

The signings of Sigler and Strickland unfortunately lead to the two players being cut, those two players were undrafted free agents, cornerback Ryan Pulley from Arkansas and tight end Jerome Washington from Rutgers.

Good luck to all on making an NFL roster.
