Silvers signed with the Jets on April 10. The team found him from the AAF, where he played for Memphis in 2019. With his departure, no quarterback who played on the Memphis AAF team has ever taken a regular season snap with the Jets.
Silvers played in college at Troy. He was undrafted last year and was not signed to an undrafted free agent deal by any team.
Last week’s acquisition of Luke Falk meant the Jets were going to have to make a move at quarterback. There is no point of bringing five quarterbacks to training camp. Davis Webb still might not be out of the woods since bringing four quarterbacks to camp is pushing it. Webb remains a Jet for now, though.
