On the MHR Radio Podcast, this was akin to choosing your favorite child, but we had to pick one.
Good morning, and Happy Father’s Day Broncos Country!
Earlier this week, we had a fun “would you rather ...”
If you didn’t see it, Adam Malnati and I asked ...
Would you rather the Denver Broncos beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jan. 1997?
OR
Would you rather the Broncos beat the Baltimore Ravens in Jan. 2013?
On the MHR Radio Podcast (ApplePodcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher) we went through this game for a couple of other scenarios. They were putrid and tough, but it was fun. Here’s one of the others that really stands out.
Would you rather Randy Gradishar get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame first?
OR
Would you rather Louis Wright get inducted into the Hall of Fame first?
Now that the #Broncos are on summer break, @AdamMalnati16 & I had some fun on the @MileHighReport Radio Podcast. "Would you rather ..." Denver beat the Jags in 1996 or Ravens in 2012? h/t to @MaseDenver for the inspiration.@ApplePodcasts: https://t.co/cU0GKAmhWC

The fact that we even have to ask that question is a joke. Both Gradishar and Wright should already be in the Hall of Fame, and the fact they’re not is a stain on the museum and those who do the inductions. But in this case, Adam and I had to make a choice. We couldn’t say both or bring up another player. These were the two options.
What makes it tough is you can make the case for Gradishar and Wright, and you would be right. For this game, both Adam and I went with Gradishar. He was what made the Orange Crush what it was. He was one of the greatest middle linebackers in NFL history. If you haven’t seen my story on him from last year, here it is. What seals the deal for Grandishar ... Merlin Olsen called him one of the best linebackers he’s ever seen.
But what made this so difficult was Wright was the first. By all accounts, he was the original shutdown corner. When you’re the first, that speaks volumes about you and what you were as a player. That deserves the recognition of the Hall of Fame. Still, for this game, Gradishar gets the nod.
Tribute to Pat Bowlen
Adam and I paid tribute to the Broncos owner with a special podcast (ApplePodcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher). When Mr. B bought the team in 1984, it became a family. What made the Broncos so special is he welcomed the fans into that family. Thank you, Mr. B, for all you did for the Broncos and the community.
