Sunday Dawg Chow: Browns news (6/2/19)

More of the latest Browns news and notes from around the web in today’s dose of the Sunday Dawg Chow.

Cleveland Browns:

NFL:

  • Mr. Hall of Fame, Joe Horrigan, says goodbye (ESPN) - This June 1 is Joe Horrigan’s last day as the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s executive director, and while he will still work on a project or two for the Hall in the months and years ahead, someone else will occupy his office on the second floor of the Hall’s main building. The Hall’s growing campus now houses 40,000 football “artifacts,” as Horrigan calls them, 6 million photographs and roughly 40 million documents in its collection.
  • Saquon on Jones: Wait until ‘he wins two Super Bowls’ (NFL.com) - The New York Giants’ selection of quarterback Daniel Jones early in the 2019 draft surprised many in the football world and unleashed a throng of skeptics hell bent on ridiculing Big Blue for its supposed reach. But through nine days of offseason workouts in East Rutherford, Jones has already won over the people who matter most: his coaches and teammates.
  • Calvin Johnson to Detroit Lions: ‘Put that money back in my pocket’ (Free Press) - Rod Wood wants Calvin Johnson back in the Detroit Lions family, and the greatest wide receiver in the organization’s history is open to that idea under one condition. ”They already know what they got to do,” Johnson told the Free Press at the annual camp he runs for local high school students Saturday in metro Detroit. “The only way they’re going to get me back is they put that money back in my pocket. Nah, you don’t do that. I don’t care what they say. They can put it back, then they can have me back. That’s the bottom line.”
