Kansas City Chiefs: WR Demarcus Robinson
Since the NFL is unlikely to suspend wide receiver Tyreek Hill, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs should have their top wideout from Week 1. Between Hill, Sammy Watkins, rookie second-round pick Mecole Hardman and tight end Travis Kelce, opposing defenses should have their hands full.
What could burn opponents, though, is forgetting about fourth-year wideout Demarcus Robinson. He was rarely a first or even a second option in 2018, but he still put up respectable numbers: 22 receptions, 288 yards and four touchdowns. He could be in line for even more production this season.
According to Nate Taylor of The Athletic, Robinson will be expected to replace the departed Chris Conley as Kansas City’s No. 3 wideout. Conley caught 32 passes for 334 yards and five touchdowns a year ago.
While a slightly bigger role might not seem significant, Robinson could regularly be the guy who torches defenses just when they think they have the Chiefs’ weapons accounted for.

“There’s no question that the sky is the limit for Baker,” Favre told Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal. “And, yeah, I think his style of play, and I’ve heard the same thing about Mahomes, and I agree with both, that their styles of play — if you had to pick a former player — would certainly match up to my style.”
Favre says he sees Mayfield and Mahomes going beyond how the play was drawn up when the circumstances call for it, and he likes to see that.
“It’s a play-action fake that you’ve never seen before or a flip, underhand pass or diving over three defenders or ducking your head and getting the extra yard,” Favre said. “Those are the type of things that are the unexpected that will become, at some point, maybe expected with a guy like Baker or Mahomes. Playing [quarterback] the way I played and the way Baker and Mahomes play is they just kind of have that added little sixth sense.”

A lot has transpired since John Dorsey signed Berry to a six-year, $78 million extension with the Chiefs in February of 2017. Achilles and heel injuries limited Berry to four games (including the playoffs) in the past two seasons, including the 2018 AFC title game, when Berry struggled in coverage against Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Dorsey, meanwhile, ended up leaving Kansas City and taking on the Browns’ rebuilding efforts. The 30-year-old Berry, who was released by the Chiefs this offseason, would bring leadership skills and savvy to a safety unit that currently includes just two other veterans (Damarious Randall and Morgan Burnett). The big question is whether the three-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler will be able to stay healthy for an entire season.

This is going to be the biggest question of the season. Was the ridiculous 2018 season of Patrick Mahomes signs of even bigger things to come? Or is he a one-hit wonder?
It’s been done before, maybe not on this scale – but quarterbacks have flopped after having a big breakout season. Maybe an injury occurs, or defenses figure out a weakness that they can exploit.
It will be up to Mahomes and the Chiefs to keep any drastic drop-offs from happening. In fact, he could even improve and become an even deadly weapon at quarterback (think about how scary that would be).
It all boils down to this though – was it a fluke? This will definitely be the biggest question Mahomes has to answer in 2019. The most important one too.

It was Belichick and the Patriots’ latest triumph that impressed Romo greatly.
Though it wasn’t the most exciting Super Bowl, New England’s 13-3 win over Los Angeles in Super Bowl LIII was a masterpiece of game-planning. While the Rams’ offense had confounded most defenses in their run to big game, the Patriots had none of it.
”What he did in the Super Bowl was really one of the great -- him and Brian Flores -- one of the greatest defensive performances I have ever seen in football,” Romo said. “And really in the AFC title game. He went to Kansas City and in that first half, Kansas City couldn’t do anything. These two offenses, you saw what happened when these two teams played (each other). These two are great offensive units with very good systems, but what he did was really, really impressive.”
Around the league
It may be coming to a head for the two sides this offseason, as Elliott is planning to hold out from training camp absent a new deal and there is a belief out there that things could “go sideways” if there isn’t a deal to be done.
Elliott will reportedly be forcing the issue even more, as according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the running back is making plans to take what amounts to a vacation, despite Cowboys training camp beginning in five days.
”Running back Ezekiel Elliott may or may not be there,” Florio wrote Sunday. “Per a league source, Elliott currently is believed to be making plans for a trip out of the country.”
Elliott has made enough money where he can schedule a quick trip out of the country before the season starts. He certainly would not be the first person to plan a vacation right before work picks up at the office.
Dolphins waive, will pay DT Norton, who lost arm | ESPN
The Miami Dolphins have waived defensive tackle Kendrick Norton, who had his left arm amputated following a car crash near Miami earlier this month, with a non-football injury designation.
By placing Norton on the reserve/non-football injury list, the team is able to pay the 22-year-old his full salary.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Norton’s Ford F-250 crashed into a concrete barrier on State Road 836 in the early hours of July 4.
The University of Miami product underwent at least six surgeries before he was released from the hospital last week.

Hall of Fame presenters chosen for former Chiefs Gonzalez and Robinson
According to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, all presenters have now been chosen for those who will be be officially enshrined into the Hall of Fame during the induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio on August 3 — including two former Kansas City Chiefs players: tight end Tony Gonzalez and safety Johnny Robinson.
Presenters are chosen by the inductees. Although they are sometimes teammates or coaches with whom the inductee worked during their playing days, often they are friends or family members.
Such will be the case with the two former Chiefs to be inducted into the Hall. Gonzalez will be introduced by his cousin Dennis Allen. Robinson will be introduced by his stepson Bob Thompson.
Report: Chiefs “remain interested” in extending Tyreek Hill’s contract
According to a report, the Kansas City Chiefs are still interested in extending wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s rookie contract, which expires at the end of the coming season.
Late on Friday afternoon, Yahoo! Sports writer (and friend-of-the-site) Terez Paylor reported that the team “remains interested” in a contract extension after the NFL announced Hill will not serve a suspension in 2019.
Now that the NFL has decided against disciplining or fining Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill, sources with knowledge of the situation reiterated to Yahoo Sports on Friday that the club remains interested in signing the All-Pro receiver to a contract extension.
