We break down the good, the bad, and the ugly about the new Madden ratings for the Chicago Bears.
By now you’ve all heard about the latest buzz surrounding the Madden ratings for the Chicago Bears, but did you realize the team was given their ratings a while ago? Before the official rating launch, EA Sports gave the Bears an early peek and this video featuring Chase Daniel, Tarik Cohen, Akiem Hicks, Eddie Jackson, Allen Robinson II, and Patrick Scales is a must see.
Needless to say, the fellas weren’t very happy with what Madden came up with, but they’ve always got the updates to look forward to.
Here are my quick takes on the ratings.
The Good
- Khalil Mack is one of four players that received a 99 overall.
- The Bears have the highest rated defense in the game.
- Akiem Hicks is the strongest Bear at 93.
- Tarik Cohen had the Bears highest elusiveness rating at 92.
- The fastest Bear is Taylor Gabriel at 94.
- Trey Burton is the highest rated offensive player with an 87. (This is good for Burton, but a head-scratcher to me.)
The Bad
- Mitchell Trubisky is the 24th ranked quarterback in the game.
- There are 18 defensive lineman rated higher than Hicks.
- Kicker Eddy Pineiro has a 72 kick accuracy rating.
- Tight end Trey Burton has a higher run block rating (77), than starting right tackle Bobby Massie (68).
- Roquan Smith has a 77 awareness.
The Ugly
This guy is actually using Madden ratings to prove a point.
