It’s back to work, and back to waiting for training camp to get here
Merry Monday, everyone!
I love Mondays, I love having a new week of work ahead of me, new opportunities, etc. This Monday seems even better, we had a nice, long weekend to recharge the batteries, and it makes the fresh work week seem even that much more exciting. There still isn’t a whole lot out there for Vikings news, which is a good thing, because most news this time of year involves a police report, and we don’t need any of that.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
The Vikings made Bucky Brooks’ list of sleeper teams for 2019, per Chris.
Kyle Rudolph had some good things to say about Garrett Bradbury, also shared by Chris. On a related note, I’ve been told that Bradbury isn’t the guy who had the theater that was used in the TV show.
Chris shared a report that participants who competed in the ‘40 Yards of Gold’ event have yet to be paid. They were given a check, then were told not to cash them. I’m not sure if that’s better or worse than being told that the check’s in the mail.
Other NFL news, other sports news, and random oddities and annoyances:
The Sporting News has all the information on the upcoming supplemental draft.
A couple of somber stories from NFL.com, Tedy Bruschi suffered a second stroke, and former Giants QB Jared Lorenzen died at the age of 38.
Randy Gregory plans to file for reinstatement, per NFL.com. Gregory was suspended indefinitely by the NFL back in February for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
We come to today’s media selection:
Anyone else a fan of Mr. Bean? Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t tip the cows, and try the blood sausage.
