The Cowboys have moved on from a legacy.
One of the more fun storylines this offseason for the Cowboys was the addition of an offensive lineman that had a name all fans recognized... Larry Allen Jr..
Allen is obviously the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Allen. Hopes were high that he could potentially have a career like his father did for America’s Team, but those dreams ended on Wednesday when the Cowboys released him in order to make room for linebacker Justin Phillips.
Cowboys cut Larry Allen Jr., and signed LB Justin Phillips.

Dallas is already down a linebacker early on in training camp as Sean Lee is dealing with a tweaked knee. Perhaps they want someone else for repetitions or perhaps they just feel like they don’t need an extra offensive lineman.
Sometimes stories like this are meant to be but more often than not our hopes are ultimately let down due to the realities of the National Football League. All the best to Larry Allen Jr. wherever he ultimately ends up.
